Freight train locomotive series 57.10 of the DRG
Analog basic+ | prepared for decoder installation
Operating number 57 3090
Rbd. Wuppertal; Bw Letmathe
After the interruption in 1916, G10 locomotives were delivered again from 1917. By 1919, 222 of these locomotives had to be handed over to the victorious powers of the First World War. Due to these losses, the consequences of the war and the lack of new designs, the G10 was continued to be built until 1924. From the start of construction in 1910, improvements (e.g. feed dome, preheater) were continuously installed, which increased the weight of the locomotives. Originally planned as series 33, it was later given the designation BR 57.10-35. A total of 2,358 of these machines were built. They were used particularly on routes with weaker superstructures but heavy freight traffic, such as in the Essen, Wuppertal, Breslau, Erfurt, Hanover and Kassel Rbd. The G10s were also used in the Bavarian directorates from 1924, where a total of 156 units were used in cities such as Augsburg, Munich and Nuremberg.
