Diesel locomotive CC 72071 "Marseille"
Original livery with number plates
The 200th anniversary of the French Revolution was celebrated in France in 1989 with a commemorative event that particularly paid tribute to the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789 and the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen on August 26, 1789. As part of these celebrations, diesel locomotive CC 72030 received a special decoration in the colors of the French flag and the logo of the event, designed by Jean-Michel Folon. The locomotive was repainted four times in total: first in blue, then in blue-white-red for the 200th anniversary, then in a red multi-service livery and finally in a final livery. With over 9 million kilometers covered, it was the French diesel locomotive with the highest mileage and was deregistered on October 23, 2018.
