Novelty 2023:
From the mid-1950s, the conversion of state railway compartment cars at the Deutsche Bundesbahn resulted in passenger car series that are referred to as conversion cars.
Second-class carriages, first- and second-class carriages, and second-class carriages with luggage compartments were made. For many years they were indispensable in local traffic on main and branch lines.
The last examples were not taken out of service until the mid-1980s, but they are still used today on museum railways or as construction vehicles.
