The Saviour of the Auxiliary Railways” was called the VT. Like their DB models, the PIKO models of the powertrain and steering car embody clear, functional and low-maintenance constructions. The railcar model is powered by a micro-engine, which is equipped with two comparatively large, precisely dimensioned flywheel masses for perfect running characteristics. The drive acts on both axles. Since powertrains and steering cars can be coupled to each other via a current-conducting short-clutch kinematics, two additional axes (and thus four) can be used for safe power collection when operating with steering cars. The railcar has a PluX16 digital interface according to NEM 658. The lighting functions of both vehicles can be switched separately. Despite the design of the drive and steering cars, a clear view through the passenger compartments is possible. The railcar can also be used as an exemplary railcar for carrying individual freight wagons. An axle without adhesive tyres, in exchange for the axle with adhesive tyres of the VT, is included.
