This book explains to the reader how to modernize Märklin models. In addition to the standard drives, it also covers models with bell-armature or soft drive sine motors. It not only describes how to replace the decoder or switching relay, but also how to modernize the lighting and retrofit additional functions. It also explains how to easily retrofit a digital coupling or chassis lighting for steam locomotives and how all of these new functions have to be set in the decoders. In addition to spare parts, small helpers are also used that not only make it easier to explain the conversions, but also to carry out the work. Among other things, adapter boards are presented with which the very special C90 decoders in tenders can be easily replaced.
