The book describes the passenger cars of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft built between 1921 and 1931. Own chapters document the different stages of development of the types. In addition, the book informs about the different developments of the assemblies. After a description of the car (each with photo and drawing as well as text and table) the book contains an individual listing of the car construction contracts 1921 to 1931 as well as an overview of the procurement of passenger and baggage car to country railway drawings.

Compared to First published in 1982, the book is being expanded to include heaters and a comparison of pre-computer and computer-time versions. Thanks to the new format, the cars are now displayed more generously. The carriage drawings are printed on a scale of 1: 100.
