Büssing buses at the railway and post office
112 pages with around 160 illustrations, 32 of which are in colour
300 x 210 mm
The railway and post office were the largest single customers of the legendary commercial vehicle brand Büssing in the bus sector. While the Reichspost already owned a considerable Büssing fleet before the Second World War and expanded this significantly from 1949 with the new tram buses and later with groundbreaking new designs, the Reichsbahn was only able to put a few cars with the famous "spider" into service at the front before 1939.
It was only the young Federal Railway that procured large numbers from the Braunschweig factory in the 1950s and 1960s. The yellow post buses and the red railway buses were delivered in a wide variety of models until Büssing's independent bus production ended in 1971/72. Atmospherically dense operational photos of the “Büssing Lions” at the two state-owned companies characterise the EK book
