Description & specifications

Railway attendant's house SK

Size: 93x77x64 mm
Material: cardboard, plywood, foil

Railway attendants 'houses or railway guards' houses were already built for the first horse-drawn railways. Their golden era brought the development of steam trains.

Often they were only built within sight of each other so that the station attendants can send messages about the passage of a train.

They also monitored important bridges and stations. They had a transportation and housing purpose. Fire protection was also of great importance, as there was a danger of fire from the sparks flying from the steam locomotives.

With the introduction of telegraphs and mechanical signals, they largely lost their tasks at that time. Later they continued to serve the level crossings, switches, signal systems, etc.

The construction of the keeper's house is in accordance with MÁV standards (Hungarian Royal State Railway).

The adhesive and the instructions are part of the modular system, which is delivered disassembled into individual parts.
