Covered freight car
In the 1950s and 1960s, Deutsche Bahn procured well over 3000 sliding roof / sliding wall wagons as a multi-purpose vehicle for the transport of weather-sensitive goods. Their great advantage was the wide-opening steel sliding walls and the lifting sliding roof. These wagons could be loaded very quickly even with forklifts.
