INFORMATION ON THE MODEL
The German Federal Railway did not purchase any four-axle, covered freight cars. In contrast, these were an important part of the freight car fleet at the DR. Based on developments during the war, various types of four-axle, covered freight cars were created, which were purchased in large numbers. The GGhrsz type, which was purchased from 1966, was the culmination of the development. These wagons were later referred to as Gagmrs-v, then as Gags (class code number 1992). This design was the final form of the four-axle, covered wagons of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. They were therefore purchased in large numbers. The vehicles had a length over the length of 16.52 m and a load capacity of 57 t. The body was welded together from sheet metal, the floor was made of wood. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, these wagons were not taken into the joint freight wagon fleet, but some were used as private wagons.
