As with the prototype, the model of the S499.02 represents a further development of the legendary "Laminátka". Both series share the sublime model quality.

This becomes clear in the precise reproduction of the locomotive body with the eye-catching ventilation band, the engraving of which conveys the highest level of plasticity in the model. The engine room windows above are fitted perfectly flush. A special feature is the framing of the front window, which is accommodated by separately inserted frames on a scale of 1:87. In keeping with this, the ventilation systems next to the windows were also designed as individual parts. Apart from the external qualities, the model is also technically convincing. Among the lighting functions, the chassis lighting with the filigree lamp glasses is particularly noteworthy.

In the models equipped with a digital decoder at the factory, lighting in the driver's cabs, the instrument panels and the engine room can also be switched on.

Thanks to the PluX22 interface, the analog version can be equipped with a decoder in no time at all and then has the same lighting functions.
