Electric locomotive class 1144 of the ÖBB, epoch VI, AC
With the newly designed PIKO 1044/1144, there will also be authentic models with the high serial numbers of this series in 1:87 for the first time.
The characterful face of the locomotive of the former ÖBB parade horse was excellently met in the model implementation, as was the striking side section of the vehicles, which with the pronounced beads and the typical "portholes" posed challenges to the mold construction. The resulting impression of an ideal visual effect is continued in the locomotive's bogies. Last but not least, the new 1044 is technically convincing: a five-pole PIKO motor with two finely balanced centrifugal masses on its shaft ensures even propulsion. The middle conductor versions of the model are factory-fitted with mfx-capable digital decoders.
The light change that is mandatory today, like the attractive driver's desk illumination, was implemented using contemporary LED technology.
On the other hand, the lighting in the driver's cab, which is also available in the PIKO model and can be switched in digital mode, is not a matter of course.
