The Siemens Smartron is a vehicle from the locomotive family of the German rail vehicle manufacturer Siemens Mobility, which is based on the Siemens Vectron model.
It was presented by Siemens on March 1, 2018. The Smartron is a simplified version of the Siemens Vectron.
The vehicle is only offered in a preconfigured version that has already received approval for Germany.
Further approvals exist for Romania and Bulgaria. This should reduce costs.
