After the good results of the several acquired series and sub-series of Japanese locomotives, the network decided to expand its order of 269 locomotives, resulting in the 200 sub-series. This sub-series, divided into two parts, represented an evolution based on both experience and available technological improvements. It was the last part of the sub-series called "High Series" that included all these functional improvements, the most characteristic of which were the installation of Young-type side windows for the cabins, as well as new refrigeration units with resistance on the roof and underbody.
