The locomotives of the 2095 series, purchased from 1958 onwards, formed the backbone of the ÖBB on the diesel-powered narrow-gauge lines for decades. They were used in passenger and freight transport, especially in bogie/rolling wagon transport. The 2095s were used on the narrow-gauge lines of the Ybbstalbahn, the Bregenzerwaldbahn, the Krimmlerbahn, the Waldviertelbahn and on the so-called "Krumpe". The latter formed the now disused local railway from Ober-Grafendorf to Gresten.
