The 234 304 was a loner in the Ludmilla family. In 1994 it was given a trial paint job in the product colours of DB regional transport at the time. The locomotive body was painted mint turquoise with a wide decorative stripe in pastel turquoise over the locomotive frame. The roof, frame and chassis were painted grey-brown.
