Description & specifications

Diesel locomotive series 2067 of the Austrian Federal Railways.

■ With many separately attached plug-in parts
■ Fine wheel sets with low wheel flanges
■ Execution in "Valousek" design
■ Engine front end with maintenance hatches
■ Prototypical light and sound functions can be controlled using the onboard decoder

In order to replace the aging steam locomotives Rh 392, 694 and others with modern vehicles, powerful diesel locomotives were procured from 1959. As was usual with the electric shunting locomotives of the time, a drive via jackshaft and coupling rods was also installed here. A total of no fewer than 111 locomotives had been delivered to the ÖBB by 1978. The locomotive with hydraulic power transmission has an output of 440 kW and a top speed of 65 km / h. The 2067 series, actually procured as a heavy shunting machine, was also often used in front of passenger and freight trains. For example on the Gailtal-, Ost- and Franz-Josefs-Bahn. The 2067s are still used in rail operations today. Some vehicles are used by private railway companies, in museums or adapted for special purposes.
