For the Deutsche Bahn tourist train, in addition to the 103 220, the 218 416 and the 218 418 were given a special paint job from autumn 1995. In this special water-land-sun-sky design and with specially converted cars, two trains ran to different destinations in Germany and neighboring countries. From 2003 to 2006, 218 418 with this colorful design were in use in the RegioNetz of the Südostbayernbahn.
