1955 the first advance locomotives of the new V 60 shunting locomotive from Krupp, Krauss-Maffei, MaK and Henschel hit the tracks. Almost 1,000 machines are built by 1963. The 650 hp, triple-coupled diesel locomotives quickly replaced steam operation in shunting service.

Even today, the V 60 can still be found in active operation on the DB. We guide you through the long 60-year history. From the construction at Krupp, renaming to the small diesel locomotive, color variants, operation today, up to today's V 60 with exhaust gas cleaning.
