• So that the "Burger Stumpen" came into the shop
The first VW T1 "Type 2" quickly became popular in Switzerland - and by the early 1950s it was already driving in the colors of the then nationally known "Burger Stumpen". In contrast to normal cigars, cigars were once round, rather short, but evenly thick cigars with blunt ends. The first VW Bulli was a great help in supplying customers. VW had made it possible, because after only 51 weeks of development, the new transporter was presented to journalists on November 12, 1949. Series production began in the Wolfsburg factory on March 8, 1950.
