With the F90, a completely new generation of trucks appeared at MAN in 1986 with a modern driver's cab. It replaced the previous F9 series.
The F90 model series got the new generation of engines, further developed from the predecessor. The top engine was now 460 hp, which initially brought MAN the power peak of European road trucks, and later increased to 500 hp. The model range included different chassis lengths and axle configurations. There were also numerous special bodies from third-party suppliers.
