IFA W50 LA MK5/6, Industrial fair
The W50 was designed in over 70 basic variants with different structures. In addition to the flatbed vehicle, the tipper variant was the most widespread version from Ludwigsfelde and produced in the highest numbers. Originally developed in the special vehicle factory in Berlin, the dump truck body was presented in 1969 at the Leipzig Trade Fair. The vehicles were then finally manufactured in Dessau by the rationalization company of the public utilities. With the wide low-pressure tires, the off-road mobility has been noticeably increased. The W50 was suitable both for the new development areas, in which there were hardly any paved roads during the construction phase, and for difficult terrain. In the reproduced version, the W50 dump truck was exhibited as a measuring vehicle in Leipzig and therefore bears the IFA commercial vehicle logo on the driver's cab.
ESPEWE car models 1:87
The dump truck body will continue to be used on the chassis of the W50 and L60 in the 2023 model year. In addition to vehicles from the fire brigade and the NVA, an L60 from VEB Minol follows. The focus this year is on models from the Auto Trans Berlin combine and its operating units, as well as the successor companies that continued to use the existing vehicles with new lettering after reunification. Of course, a few new variants of the Espewe replica models of the S4000 tank pumper should not be missing.
