Mercedes-Benz Vito, car rental "Europcar"
Europcar Deutschland Autovermietung, which was founded in Hamburg in 1927 as Motor-Verkehrs-Union, is a subsidiary of the Europcar Mobility Group (the French car rental company Europcar Mobility Group was founded in Paris in 1949 and is present in over 140 countries). After the name was changed to Selbstfahrer Union GmbH in 1928, the company developed into the largest German car rental company. The first rental station opened at a Hamburg train station in 1955 and only four years later at an international airport. In 1970 the Volkswagen Group became the new owner and in 1974 the company changed its name to interRent Autovermietung GmbH. In 1989 she was followed by the French car rental company Europcar. Europcar Autovermietung GmbH is headquartered in Hamburg and has a fleet of over 40,000 vehicles at 520 locations across Germany.
