IFA Werdau 50L extinguishing group vehicle 16 - portable pump 8, trade fair
Year of construction: 1984
The fire truck on the front-link chassis of the W50 replaced the LF from 1968 on the basis of the older Hauber model S4000-1. The cab offers enough space for the crew of 9 firefighters with complete equipment. The structure is constructed in a mixed construction from steel and wood, the TS 8 portable pump is inserted at the side. The angular design of the body, which is modeled, was manufactured in the body shop in Halle from 1979. The LF16 was built almost unchanged for more than 20 years. An attempt in 1980 to design the all-metal structure was stopped by the Ministry of the Interior. The LF16 was used individually or as a tactical unit with the TLF 16 tank fire engine, which is also based on the W50. The fire truck was completed with the matching turntable ladder DL30 - of course also on a W50 chassis. The model corresponds to an exhibition vehicle from the Leipziger Messe with the IFA-mobile DDR logo on the cab.
