• Bright BMW convertible in fine Italian style
Model 1967-68
In 1963, Hans Glas knew what he owed his customers with the 1600 convertible: the designer of the Italian bodywork manufacturer Frua combined sportiness with the elegance of the body line - regardless of whether the convertible was driven with the top down or the bottom down. Later taken over by BMW, there were only a few BMW 1600 GT convertibles before the fate of the smart glass body was finally sealed. With the BMW 1600 GT convertible, WIKING is bringing an almost forgotten classic from the 1960s. From autumn 1967 to summer 1968, BMW continued Glas's sporty series after taking over the company - but it was never to go beyond the character of a proverbial discontinued model. It was only logical that after taking over the Dingolfing car manufacturer Glas, the new owners of BMW placed their brand logo effectively on the top of the hood and also added the brand's typical kidney grille on the radiator. Body yellow, chassis, convertible roof and interior black. Both bumpers and rear-view mirrors finished in silver. Headlights transparent, front indicators orange and rear lights printed in red. Rims silver. Black radiator grille with blue and white BMW logo. Silver lettering "1600 GT" and BMW logo printed on the rear. Window surrounds silver-plated.
