In November 1984 the time had come: Daimler-Benz presented its new upper middle class sedan. It was the successor to the 123 series and was still considered the "middle Mercedes class". For the 124 series, Daimler-Benz used key elements of the W 201, but this did not change its successful independence from then on. WIKING miniaturized the Mercedes-Benz early on in its first E-Class version and provided a cutting-edge impulse in the passenger car range. Four decades later, the 260 E is one of the classics, retaining its own profile thanks in particular to its then typical color scheme of the body and plastic sills and at the same time an adapted interior.
