EMW 340
Production of the EMW 340 began in 1949, originally under the name BMW 340, at the Eisenach Motor Works (EMW) in Eisenach, Thuringia. The vehicle's roots lie in the BMW 326, a model from before the Second World War. In 1951, a further developed variant was introduced, which was also available as a station wagon. After the division of Germany and a patent dispute with the BMW works in Munich, the model was renamed EMW 340 from July 1, 1952 and continued to be produced until 1955.
