Lada 1200 / Shiguli 2101
Lada (in English "the beloved" / "sweetheart"). The state-owned automobile plant Avto WAS (Volga Automobile Plant) based in Togliatti, Russia, produced the Shiguli or Lada 2101 (export name) model based on the Fiat 124. In the first year of production, 200,000 of the 60 hp Ladas rolled off the production line and the former cult vehicle of the GDR can still be found on the road today.
