Busch 46817 Gauge H0 Mercedes-Benz W 123 station wagon, hydrogen petrol

Years ago, Mercedes-Benz asked itself the question of where the journey would take us in the future, petrol or hydrogen? A research vehicle of a 280 TE from the 123 series was developed for this purpose. The engine of the station wagon burns a variable mixture of hydrogen gas and petrol - both energy sources are fueled and stored separately from each other. There is a classic 35-liter tank for the liquid fuel above the rear axle and an additional low-temperature metal hybrid storage unit made up of two modules for the hydrogen. A fleet test started in Berlin in 1984.
