Rubber Bulldog »Lanz«, built in 1921.
heavyweight!
The 1921 Rubber Bulldog is a tractor that can pull a minimum load of 6 to 7 tons while traveling at a speed of 5 to 6 km per hour.
From today's perspective, that's not exactly great, but for the time it was a big novelty.
The Gummi Bulldog replaced two teams in continuous operation and was therefore much cheaper in terms of operating costs. The advantages of the Bulldog such as: simplicity of construction, ease of use, constant operational readiness and great operational reliability were used as sales arguments - arguments that corresponded to reality.
The use of the bulldog was not only in driving but also as a driving force for machines in industry, commerce and agriculture. It was mainly used in sawmills, timber shops, brickworks, coal dealers, forwarding companies, breweries, construction companies and many more. Fuel consumption was 1 1/2 - 2 kg per hour, depending on the quality of the fuel, lubricating oil consumption was approx. 100 g per hour, operational readiness within 2 - 3 minutes under full load.
The super filigree model of the bulldog impresses with the many small details and is a true work of art that should not be missing on any showpiece.
