Aero Union Douglas C-54 Skymaster Air Tanker - N62297 / 14
From the 1960s until its closure in 2011, Aero Union has been a big name in aerial forest fire fighting. In addition to training pilots, she maintained a large fleet of decommissioned military aircraft, including Lockheed P-2 Neptune, P-3 Orion, B-25 Mitchell, Douglas DC-6 or just some ex-Luftwaffe Douglas C-54. For this purpose, the former military aircraft of the DC-4 family were given a large tank on the fuselage underside with a capacity of 11,000 liters for water or other extinguishing agents.
