On April 11, 2022, the new Flybe, previously based in Exeter and now in Birmingham, resumed operations with a new investor after two years with twelve leased Q400s. On March 5, 2020, the regional airline became one of the first victims of the Covid 19 pandemic. The original to this model, fitted with a new livery, made the first flight of the new Flybe from Birmingham to the second new hub, Belfast-City.
