LED SMD 0402 with yellow enamelled copper wire
Here we offer a tiny LED (type 0402), already soldered with 0.15mm thin and insulated enamelled copper wire.
The enameled wires are dyed, the plus pole red and the minus pole black.
Technical specifications:
- Luminous color - yellow
- Connection cable - approx. 150mm long
- Polarity - plus pole red and minus pole black
- Enamelled copper wire diameter - 0.15mm
- Voltage - max. 2.0V
- current - max. 20mA
- Beam angle - approx. 120°
- Luminosity - about 45mcd
- Housing color - clear
LED dimensions - L x W x H (1.0mm x 0.5mm x 0.5mm)
Notes on using the LEDs
Operation on a floor model with a transformer. In order to be able to operate these LEDs on a standard transformer with an AC voltage output, you need a suitable series resistor (e.g. 4.7 KOhm) and a protective diode (e.g. 1N4148) in order to convert the AC voltage, which is harmful to the LED, into a DC voltage.
Operation in a mobile Car System model
The battery voltage of 1.2V or 2.4V is usually not sufficient to light up standard LEDs. You have to distinguish between the following cases.
Battery voltage 1.2V (vehicle with one battery cell) - cars and other small vehicles. You need a voltage converter for each LED color because red, yellow, orange and green LEDs require a forward voltage of 2.00V and white and blue LEDs require a forward voltage of 3.00V.
Battery voltage 2.4V (vehicle with two battery cells) - trucks and buses
Red, yellow, orange and green LEDs can be connected directly to the battery via a 100 ohm series resistor. White and blue LEDs require a forward voltage of 3.00V, which can only be provided by a voltage converter.
